What is NUPOC?
A Salary While You're Still in School
The Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program pays you a full military salary — base pay, housing allowance, and food allowance — while you complete your bachelor's degree. After graduation, you commission as a Navy officer.
There are five career paths: Submarine Officer, Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer, Naval Reactors Engineer, and two Instructor tracks — one at a training unit, one at a classroom school. Each starts with the same pay and benefits — the difference is what you'll do after commissioning.
This is NOT ROTC. No uniforms, no drills, no military classes while you're in school. You're a regular student who gets a military paycheck.
